UPDATE MARCH 2024
The proceeds of over €6,000 were transferred to The Gambia at the end of September. In the months that followed, work started on the construction of a new building. Due to the high proceeds, it was decided not to build one extra classroom, but one building with four classrooms!
In February 2024, we went to The Gambia and were able to festively open the building. Four classrooms, where lots of children can be taught. A beautiful building, with space. For us in the Netherlands it is almost a matter of course that there is a building and we can get an education. In The Gambia, for many children, this is unfortunately still something that is not available to everyone.

On 9 September 2023, Gerwin Nijeboer ran the Jungfrau Marathon in Switzerland. 42.195 km and over 2,000 altimeters. Goal this time was not just a personal goal, but a goal for the Yamah Foundation!
The school is in the process of building new classrooms at its Jabang site. The construction of 1 classroom will cost about €3,500.
Thanks to more than 100 sponsors, a total of over €6 000 was raised!!!
For completeness: as you are used to from the Yamah Foundation, the entire amount donated will be used for The Gambia. No money is left on the proverbial bow.
