Yamah Foundation
Since our first visit to The Gambia in 2003, we have come to love the country and its people. In 2004, we started supporting the London Corner School in Serrekunda. A school for primary and beginning vocational education. Over the past decades, this school has grown to a school of over 600 children, currently spread over 2 locations, with a new location in Jabang.
Besides supporting the school, we were able to do a few other projects, such as helping with the purchase of farmland to grow food for the school, digging a well and training nurses.
Sometimes it seems like the proverbial drop in the ocean, but Mother Theresa once spoke the inspiring words:
“If you can't feed a hundred people, then feed just one”.
